What happens when a history buff and a science nerd meet? A soap company forms!
Hi! We are the Williams family – Anthony, Rebecca, Marshall (4), Caroline (2), and Ollie (9 pounds of fury/weenie dog). We live in a rural area of Eastern North Carolina. Anthony and his dad share a barber shop while Rebecca teaches chemistry. Having two small children means that our days are full of divide and conquer – constantly making sure the little people are still alive at the end of the day. In the quiet of the evenings, when the last Veggie Tales has ended, we are able to work together on our nerdy little hobby…our craft…our creation…our fantastic soap that we can’t wait to share!
Our soapmaking journey began about eight years ago. After seeing a soapmaking demonstration on a trip to Tryon Palace, Anthony said “Hey. You’re good at science. You should be able to make soap.” And so it began. Suddenly everything in the grocery store was a potential soap mold. Soap cutters became ideal birthday presents. We were hooked and still are.
A lot of prayer went into deciding if our nerdy little obsession should be a hobby or a business. Suddenly things started to take off. On a random country drive we noticed a sign advertising goatmilk. Goatmilk soaps began to take center stage for us. A good friend got into woodworking and suddenly we had quality soap molds. Another good friend got into blogging and suddenly we had great website resources. Suddenly…here we are.
